The government of Belarus has announced negotiations on a draft agreement with Georgia. It is expected that during the signing of this agreement an intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will be established, reported Telegraf.by.
This project will become the basis for further negotiations. Belarusian Minister of Trade, Valentin Chekanov, is authorized to hold the talks, while reaching an agreement within approved project.
According to Georgia Embassy in Belarus economic cooperation between the two countries sucessfuly develops. Turnover rate between the states demonstrates this tendency. In 2009, trade turnover between Belarus and Georgia amounted to 45 million dollars. The Georgian side is interested in purchasing Belarusian dairy products, products of agricultural industry. On the other hand world-famous Georgian wines and mineral water are in great demand in Belarus.
