Turkey seeks peace, dialogue and cooperation with Caspian region

Peace, dialogue and cooperation with the countries of the Caspian region are the goals sought today by Turkey, deputy head of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Naji Koru said today. "The Caspian region is of strategic importance, and it is clear that conflicts in the region have a negative impact on its development," he said.

The strategic position of the region, Koru added, provides it with energy resources, the key to international energy security. "The implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor will provide an alternative route for Caspian gas, this project is important for the EU and Turkey, in particular, as this will provide additional sources" Trend quotes his words.
Koru also emphasized that Turkey supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
