The Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office is searching for Data Akhalaya, former head of the Department for Constitutional Security of the Interior Ministry.
Other Georgian former functionaries Soso Topuridze, Gerontiy Alania and Oleg Melnikov are on the wanted list too for excess of authority and beating police officers. Akhalaya is accused of illegal freedom suppression.
A lawyer of Data Akhalaya, brother of arrested Bacho Akhalaya, is abroad and will return as soon as his being pressurized in Georgia stops.
