Chechen beaches introduce lifeguards

A Chechen lifeguard group has already saved 10 people, Yuga.ru reports.


The group was established by order of the head of the local branch of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, Ruslan Yakhyayev. Most accidents occur in a pond in the Cossack village of Chervlennaya in the settlement of Gikalo. Beaches are still unequipped, such as the largest water storage 'Groznenskoye', which has no buoys.
According to the state inspection, 9 people have died in water since the start of the swimming season, including three children. In the summer of 2009 3 people died, 5 of them children.
