Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili issued a statement concerning recent reports by the Union of Georgian Muslims, according to which an interreligious conflict occurred in the settlement of Kvemo Kartli.
The prime minister said that such conflicts are the result of provocations aimed at subverting the Georgian state.
"Such [intolerance] is unusual in Georgia. People of different faiths have lived here together for centuries," Ivanishvili said in a statement.
