A special group against illegal gambling will be established by the Georgian parliament. The special inter-factional group will develop legal mechanisms against illegal gambling, Business Georgia reports.
The issue was discussed in the Georgian parliament, initiated by opposition member Dmitry Lordkipanidze, who urged the Prosecutor-General to consider the issue.
Lordkipanidze said that the current laws are enough to cope with the issue but the punishment is not harsh enough. 4 people committed suicide last month because of illegal gambling.
The parliamentary speaker David Bakradze supported the initiative. No details about the initiative group are known.
