India wants Azerbaijan to help confiscate illegal income

 

India plans to sign an MLAT (mutual legal assistance treaty) agreement with Azerbaijan, Israel, Oman and Nepal to investigate illegal income crimes, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs reports.

The MLAT helps prevent and investigate crimes, summon suspects to courts and confiscate illegal possessions.

India has MLAT agreements with 32 states, including Iran, Kuwait, Switzerland, Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
