The Kuban Cossack Force will be the honorary guards at the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, Yuga.ru reports.
The first Cossack guards were taking part in the Figure Skating Grand Prix in Sochi on December 7-9. They wear red parade hats and carry sabres. Chieftain of the Kuban Cossack Force Nikolai Doluda said that the Cossack guards will demonstrate the national traditions of the region and will be the “carte-de-visite” of the Olympic Games.
