French parliament passes bill banning the wearing of veils in public

The French parliament has passed a bill banning the wearing of veils in public. The law has still to be ratified by the senate. If passed, the law could require women wearing face-coverings to be fined up to 150 euros.. France has the largest Muslim population in the EU, numbering around 5 million, Reuters reports.
