Sanctions against Iran don't affect its oil and gas sector

The economic sanctions implemented by the US against Iran haven't affected the development of its oil and gas industries, Iranian oil minister Masud Mirkazemi said following a joint statement with his Russian counterparts, Interfax reports.

Russian energy minister Sergei Shmatko noted that "sanctions will not affect Russo-Iranian relations". Iran acts as an independent player on the international stage and this fact irritates Iran's enemies, he said.
