Governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin said that he will run for re-election in 2014 if the population considers him an efficient administrator for the next five years, RIA Novosti reports.
He added that he did not consider changing office and wanted to remain the governor.
Zhilkin has been the Governor of the Astrakhan Region since 2004, replacing Anatoly Guzhvin. He was approved as the governor by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in 2009.
