The US will provide Turkey with two Patriot missile systems under command of NATO officers and operated by about 400 US soldiers to protect the country from Syria, Reuters reports.
US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta signed an order to send the missiles.
Turkey requested NATO to provide the missiles. Germany and the Netherlands provided two missile batteries each.
