UN passes resolution on cooperation with GUAM

 

The UN General Assembly passed a resolution on cooperation with GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) introduced by Azerbaijani representative to the UN Agshin Mekhtiyev.

Mekhtiyev noted that GUAM became a regional organization via development of democracy and economy for 15 years. It became a UN observer in 2004. The resolution confirms cooperation with the UN in trade, energy, economic development, science, education, combating terrorism, illegal migration and human trafficking.
