Moscow mayor punishes prefects

 

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has fired Sergey Baydakov, head of the Central Administrative District of Moscow, and Vladimir Silkin, head of the Northern Administrative District.

Victor Fauer, former prefect of the South-Western District, will replace Baydakov and Vladislav Bazanchuk, deputy prefect of the Western Administrative District, will replace Silkin.

Baydakov was in office in 2003-2008 and since 2010. He used to be a deputy of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov.

Silkin joined Luzhkov’s crew in 1992. He was deputy prefect of the North-Eastern Administrative District in 1992-2004. He became the head of the property department of Moscow in January 2004, deputy mayor in July 2007, head of the property and land complex, became the prefect of the Northern Administrative District in October 2010. He became the President of Russian Yachting.
