The informal summit of CIS countries will be held in Moscow on May 8, Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said. It is expected that the CIS countries will issue a declaration to veterans of the battlefront and workers on the home front in connection with the 65th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
The draft of the declaration will be one of the main issues on the agenda of the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers on March 26 in Moscow. Altogether, according to Nesterenko, the agenda of the meeting of the heads of Foreign ministries of CIS countries will embrace 18 issues, 1news.az reports.
"It is also planned to discuss the question of facilitating the work of veterans' organizations in CIS countries in solving significant social problems and to hold a unified lesson in educational institutions of the CIS countries or conducting a day devoted to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War," Nesterenko said.
"An important part of the agenda will be the issue of cooperation of the CIS countries in the field of foreign policy," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
