Georgian PM considers official relations with Russia essential

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili has expressed optimism about improvement of relations with Russia and noted rapid improvement of trade and cultural ties, Vzglyad reports.

Restoration of territorial unity will take years, the PM believes.

Ivanishvili notes the significance of the appointment of special envoys to Russia and Georgia to start negotiations. The prime minister blames President Mikheil Saakashvili for the events in 2008.
