The Azerbaijani parliament has passed the bill on culture in the third reading. The document says that all cultural projects with state financing should be presented by art and professional unions only.
The government guarantees participation of such unions in realization and control over cultural policy by the unions. Privatization of cultural sites by municipalities is now forbidden.
Nizami Jafarov, chairman of the parliamentary committee for culture, said that amendments to the bill were passed after the second reading after studying of proposals of MPs and specialists of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
