The Russian parliament has been introduced with a bill on passport. The document will set the “nationality” field in passports voluntarily.
Obligatory fields are residence registration, marriage, children aged up to 14, military service and ownership of international passport. Voluntary fields are nationality, personal tax reference number, blood type and Rh factor.
MP Tamara Pletnyova of the Communist Party says that development of the bill is necessary and will realize the constitutional right of citizens for movement and choice of residence.
