A leasing agreement on the Gabala radar station between Russia and
Azerbaijan, which expired in the December of this year, "has met its
objectives," Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said today, RIA

Antonov said that "for 10 years the Gabala radar station has fulfilled
its task of early warning in the southern direction." Decommissioning the
Gabala radar station will not affect the security of Russia, the Deputy Defense
Minister said.
