People are bidding Director of the committee for Kazakh national security Col. Turganbek Stambekov farewell in Alma-Ata today. His funeral starts at 10 am on January 3. Head of Alma-Ata administration Ahmetzhan Yesimov is attending the funeral.
Stambekov died in a plane crash of An-27 near Chimkent on December 25. The plane carried 7 crew members and 20 military officials.
Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted on December 26 that the accident was probably caused by complicated weather conditions.
