48 Iranians kidnapped by Syrian militants near Damascus in August 2012 have been released after 5 months of detention, RIA Novosti reports.
The Free Syrian Army released them for 2,130 prisoners. IHH spokesman Osman Atalay said that the deal was struck with mediation of Turkey and Qatar.
The militants said that the detained Iranians were members of the Guards of the Islamic Revolution Corps on an intelligence mission. Iran denied the accusations.
