The head of the Dagestani Agency for Tourism, Anatoliy Karibov, had a meeting with an honored master of sports, the president of the Russian Yachting Sport Federation, Sergey Sherbakov. The vice-president of the Yacht Sport Federation of Dagestan, Daud Mukhumayev, and the head of Dagestani regional organization „Federation of Yacht Sport“, Mukhtar Omarov, were also at the meeting, RIA Dagestan reports.
At the meeting they discussed establishing a center for yacht sport development in Dagestan. Sherbakov spoke about his yacht club in the Omskaya region, where 170 children particpate in yacht events.
Then he asked why a city on the sea has not yet established a yacht club. Karibov answered that they are developing a marine project. They are forming a new program in the Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of Russia. He said that Dagestan is unique. There can be yacht excursions in Derbent, a 5,000-year-old site, and other places.
