Georgian PM and president mark Old New Year together

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili marked the Old New Year together with Patriarch Ilia II at midnight, News Georgia reports.

Ivanishvili’s Georgian Dream won the parliamentary elections in October.

The meeting at the patriarchy was attended by Georgian Speaker of Parliament David Usupashvili and Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople. The latter arrived in Tbilisi on January 10 to congratulate Ilia II on his 80th birthday and 35th anniversary of enthronement.
