A cascade of criminal cases started against former head of the department of military police Megis Kardava for digging dirt on homosexuals to blackmail them.

Kardava was blackmailing them to win their loyalty to the old government of President Mikheil Saakashvili, as stated by head of the PR office of the Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office Khatuna Painchadze.

The police found dozens of video tapes and arrested three former officials. They were released on bail of 20,000 lari.
