EU Representative: no plans for abolition of visa regime with Azerbaijan

Abolition of the visa regime with Azerbaijan is not envisaged, said John Cryer, the head of the negotiating group on an associative agreement with Azerbaijan, reports APA. He claimed that only simplification of the visa regime and reduction of time and money spent getting a visa is on the agenda. «We can't talk about full abolition of visas. These questions must be coordinated. Technical negotiations with Azerbaijan are taking place, we have presented Azerbaijan with several technical questions, and after we receive the answers we can undertake research» said John Cryer. He added that there is progress in several spheres of Azerbaijani policy, but there is still much that needs to be addressed.
