Israel elects parliament

Israel is electing the 19th parliament in its 65 years of existence today, hoping that it will put more pressure on Palestine and information pressure on Iran, RIA Novosti reports.

34 parties are running for parliament with Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud being the favourite. Ex-Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s Israel is Our Home is expected to be the second. Likud Beiteinu will most likely get 32-37 seats, Avod will probably get half of that.

The rights expect 63 out of 120 mandates.

Israeli President Shimon Peres will have consultations with parties.
