Head of Governance for Muslims office in Gagry shot in Abkhazia

The Representative of Spiritual Governance for Muslims (SGM), Emik Chakmach-ogly, was shot in the centre of Gagry, General Prosecutor's Office told to the press on Saturday, reports Interfax.
According to the agency, unknown assailants shot Chakmach-ogly from a gun at about 2 p.m. near his house, as he was leaving his car. He was returning from his own shop, situated nearby. Emik Chakmach-ogly was a member of the Republican Civic Chamber and headed the Abkhazian SGM Office in Gagry. The Prosecutor's Office of the Gagry region has initiated a criminal case. Gun shells were found, on which ballistic tests are to be carried out. A joint investigative group is working on the case, headed by First Deputy Prosecutor-General Beslan Kvitsinia, involving Interior Ministry officers, State Security officers, representatives of the State Custom's committee and forensic analysts.
