The son of the jailed Russian tycoon and major Putin opponent Mikhail Khodorkovsky, President of the Modern Russia Institute Pavel Khodorkovsky, addressed attendees of the World Economic Forum in Davos with a special letter.
Khodorkovsky urged the participants in the forum to discuss the situation surrounding human rights, supremacy of law and democracy in Russia and send a clear message to the Putin administration.
"My father, the former head of the Yukos company, who once took part in the World Economic Forum, has been jailed by the Putin regime for supporting civil activism and promoting democracy," the letter reads.
