Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church is satisfied with Russian-Armenian relations

 


The Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Karekin II, has expressed his content with Russian-Armenian relations, at a meeting with Deputy Russian Prime Minister, Alexander Zhukov, according to the press service of Ejmiatsin, reports Armenia News. “At a meeting with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister during his visit to the Armenian spiritual centre Ejmiatsin, His Holiness expressed content with the strengthening bilateral relations between Armenia and Russia and cooperation in new spheres”, the report says. His Holiness also highly appreciated the Russian government's treatment of the Armenian community living in Russia, pointing out its contribution to the country's economic and cultural life. At the meeting, the sides touched upon the age-old friendship of the two nations, the good relationship between the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Russian Orthodox Church and religious missions of the two churches. The head of the New-Nakhichevan and Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, bishop Ezras Nerisyan, attended the meeting.
