Journalists of the Iranian news agency ILNA, of the newspapers Etimad, Sharq Bahar, Arman, Sharq and of the journal Aseman, altogether more than 15 people, have been arrested in Iran over the past 2 days. These publications support the opposition, so-called reformists.
The arrests were made after a representative of the judicial system of Iran, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ezhei, publicly claimed that a number of Iranian journalists cooperate with Western news agencies.
The pro-government agency Fars has reported that in the near future the prosecuting authorities will make an official statement on the arrest of the media representatives.
