Former head of Dagestan: "My team and I are not ashamed of what we have done"

Today President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the resignation of Magomedsalam Magomedov from the post of the head of the Republic of Dagestan and on his appointment as deputy head of the Russian presidential administration.

The former head of Dagestan said that he hopes that the foundation laid by his team for the development of Dagestan will help the republic to continue developing as a modern, democratic country. He also expressed his hope that the new head of the republic will remember that the well-being of the people of Dagestan is the most important objective.

He also stressed that his new position is very demanding and brings a lot of responsibilities.
At the same time he said that he believes that he and his team had acted only for the better of the country.

"We have tried worked hard. My team and I are not ashamed of what we have done. There are notable achievements in the economy of the region, and even in such a problematic sphere as security, the fight against extremism and terrorism."
