Armenian candidates for president demand non-existent people to be removed from voters’ lists

Grant Bagratyan, Paruyr Ayrikyan and Raffi Ovannisyan have demanded that the names of non-existent people to be removed from the lists of voters and the  President Serzh Sargsyan should stop using administrative authority for his electoral campaign.

The three candidates noted that people absent from the country for over 180 days a year should be removed from the lists to prevent their votes from being used illegally.

Armenia will hold the sixth presidential polls on February 18; 8 candidates are running: President Serzh Sargsyan, former PM and leader of the Freedom Party Grant Bagratyan, former Foreign Minister and leader of the Heritage Party Raffi Ovannisyan, leader of theNational Self-Identification Union Paruyr Ayrikyan, former Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan, a political analyst of Radio Hay Andreas Gukasyan, a researcher of epos VardanSedrakyan and leader of the National Consent Party Aram Arutyunyan.
