Iranian authorities 'transferred billions via German bank'


Iranian authorities used a small German bank to transfer billions of dollars to various structures connected with Tehran's military programmes, in particular, nuclear and missile programmes, reports the Wall Street Journal, referring to unidentified European sources. The report claimed that the Iranian bank European-Iranian Trade Bank AG, with its head office in Hamburg, transferred the money to structures such as the Defence Industry Organization, Aerospace Industry Organisation and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp. All the structures are under UN, EU and US sanctions. There is no information about the details of the transactions.
