The criminal case of Kabardino-Balkarian former Prime Minister Ivan Gerter will be sent to court in late February, as stated by Valery Ustov, head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee.
Gerter is suspected of acquiring a four-room apartment at Prokhladny through a fraud. He sold it for 2.5 million rubles in March 2011. A criminal case was initiated on November 12, 2012.
Gerter was the Prime Minister of Kabardino-Balkaria since April 2011, until his dismissal on November 1, 2012 by the republic's leader Arsen Kanokov. Ruslan Khasanov, deputy head of the Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service, has been in charge of the new government.
