Armenian president positive about relations with Iran

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said that trade turnover with Iran had increased four-fold in the past 5 years, Ogonyok reports.

Sanctions of the UNSC against Iran were not a total blockade and had caused repercussions for the Armenian economy, he noted.

Sargsyan said that joint projects of hydro energy continued. A new highway connecting Armenia and Iran was on the way and a railway project was under development, he added.

The Armenian president said that relations with Iran developed basing on mutual benefit and respect.
