Sayid Mortazavi, former prosecutor of Tehran and incumbent head of the Organization for Social Security of Iran, has been released.
Mortazavi was charged with illegal storage of state property. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad promised to keep the case under personal control.
Three years ago, Mortazavi was dismissed and jailed for illegal arrests of 147 unsanctioned protesters. Three of them died.
