Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said at a ministerial meeting in Rome that Russia welcomed any project to reform the UNSC, as long as such project was approved by all members of the Security Council.
The need for reforms of the UN has been discussed in the last 15 years with no real steps made. Gatilov noted that it takes a scrupulous search for versions of reforms, because it is a matter of the structures future structure and architecture of international relations.
The Russian deputy minister warned against changes that could split countries. He does not want decisions to seem dictated.
