Ban Ki Moon noted that there are four important directions in parliamentary activity - securing the world from threats, sustaining stability and resolving national conflicts, preventing crises and promoting economic development, as well as nuclear disarmament. Following the speech, the agenda of the summit was passed.
On the summit's sidelines, the speakers of the Azerbaijani and Armenian parliaments will hold a meeting devoted to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
