Doctors monitor health of Armenian candidate for president

Doctors have started 24/7 monitoring of the health condition of Andreas Gukasyan, head of Radio Hay and a candidate for president. He is in stable condition, despite 18 days of hunger strike.

Gukasyan has been demanding fair elections since the start of presidential campaign on January 21. He does not believe in legitimacy of the elections, believing that the Republican Party uses administrative resources to have President Serzh Sargsyan re-elected.

Armenia will have the sixth presidential polls on February 18. 8 candidates are running for president: President Serzh Sargsyan, former PM and leader of the Freedom Party Grant Bagratyan, former Foreign Minister and leader of the Heritage Party Raffi Ovannisyan, leader of the National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Ayrikyan, former Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan, a political analyst of Radio Hay Andreas Gukasyan, a researcher of epos VardanSedrakyan and leader of the National Consent Party Aram Arutyunyan.
