The bureau of the Georgian parliament has cancelled the traditional annual presidential report as a response to the refusal of the United National Movement of President Mikheil Saakashvili to pass constitutional amendments limiting the president’s authority, Speaker of Parliament David Usupashvili said, Interfax reports.
Leader of the UNM fraction in the parliament David Bakradze expressed regret, noting that Saakashvili wanted to answer questions and take part in debates of the Georgian Dream coalition.
Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said that he was not planning to attend the presentation of the president’s report and “was not going to listen his nonsense”.
