Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated the nation on the launch of the first national communication satellite Azerspace /Africasat-1a.
The satellite was launched with the help of Orbital (US) and Arianespace (France).
Aliyev emphasized that the authority of Azerbaijan was rising. It is a temporary member of the UNSC, its economy is number one on the CIS space and 46th globally. Development of communications is one of the country’s peculiarities. The year 2013 was declared the Year of Information and Communication Technologies.
