US General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has responded to senator John McCain’s question, admitting that the CIA plan for shipments of weapons to Syrian opposition had been realized, although it had been scrapped for over a year, RIA Novosti reports.
Dempsey said that the Pentagon will support the plan of David Petraeus to send weapons to Syrian militants via third countries.
This means that the US White House and State Department had been lying about non-military support and had made false demands of a stop to sending weapons.
