Suspect in stabbing incident remanded in Stavropol for 2 months

The Industrial Court of Stavropol has supported the Stavropol
investigative and prosecutor's offices and remanded in custody for two months a
suspect in a stabbing incident which took place on February 7 near the "Moscow" shopping
center in Stavropol.

The Investigative Committee believes that Mohammed Lyanov stabbed
a man in the abdomen at the entrance to the "Moscow" shopping mall on
February 7.

The incident was widely reported in Stavropol. On February 9 an
unsanctioned rally against ethnic crime in the city took place.
Police detained between 20 and 80 nationalists at the rally.
