Kazakhstan appoints new Ambassador to Azerbaijan

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has replaced the head of the country's diplomatic mission to Azerbaijan. Amangeldy Zhumabayev was appointed the new ambassador.

Amangeldy Zhumabayev was born on October 4, 1951 in the Almaty region. Previously, he served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. He graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Kirov Kazakh State University. He has also studied at the economic department of the Almaty Institute of National Economy, the Academy of National Economy and the graduate school of the National Research Institute of Agricultural Economics in Moscow.

He joined the diplomatic service in November 1996. Zhumabayev speaks English.
