The Chinese Seismological Center registered a minor earthquake 378km north-east of Pyongyang (North Korea), not far from Kilchu at a depth of 1km, possibly caused by a nuclear explosion. Data coincides with the US Geological Survey’s information. The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.9 points, RIA Novosti reports.
The blast power may total 6-7 kt.
Japan has reacted to the blast by planning to consider new sanctions. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that Tokyo will contact other countries to take measures, Reuters reports.
