Russian PM proposes insurance of citizens against disasters

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has proposed a replacement of compensations to people suffering from disasters with insurances, RIA Novosti reports.

The expert office of the Russian Presidential Administration has made a proposal this month: scrapping compensations from the budget for people who refuse to buy insurances even when they can. Experts want stricter control over insurance companies and measures to give citizens more faith in the insurance system.
