Iranian ex-president concerned about public disputes of politicians

Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Chairman of the Expediency Discernment Council, ex-President of Iran and one of the country’s richest people, said at the Centeral Council of the Islamic Association of the Tehran University for Medical Sciences today that public scandals of Iranian functionaries caused concerns, ISNA reports.

He emphasized that disputes benefit enemies of Iran and the Islamic Revolution.

The scandal the ex-president was talking about had started in early February. The Iranian parliament had had a vote of distrust against Labour Minister Abdolreza Sheikhulislam due to appointment of Sayid Mortazavi, a former prosecutor suspected of causing deaths of convicts.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had accused the family of Iranian Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani of corruption and bribery.
