Turkey responds to mortar shell from Syria

A mortar shell supposedly fired from Syria landed in the town of Yayladağı in the southern Turkish province of Hatay late on Thursday

, Hurriyet Daily News reports. 

 

The shell landed in a forested area 1 kilometer away from the Kayapınar military border outpost and no casualties were reported. Turkey responded to the shell immediately. 

 

Clashes in Syria are heard easily in Yayladağı.
