Iran’s Defense Minister General Ahmad Vahidi says the Islamic Republic is producing various long-range radar systems which can cover a distance of up to 3,000 kilometers, Iranian state-run broadcaster Press TV reports.
Vahidi said on Tuesday that radars with the capture range of 500-700 kilometers have been produced in Iran, adding that building of new such devices with ranges of 1000-3000 kilometers is under way.
The Iranian defense minister also said that some of these indigenous radars will be used for detecting satellites.
