Iranian president appoints special representative for Caspian Sea affairs

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has appointed Mohamed Mehdi Akhundzadeh to the post of Special Representative for Caspian Sea Affairs. Akhundzadeh also serves as deputy foreign minister for law and international Affairs, Trend reported.

Akhundzadeh replaced Mehdi Safari, who was appointed the country's new ambassador to China.
